Western New York Outdoors
A Parks and Recreation Guide to locations for
outdoor adventures in WNY.
New Albion Lake
Town of New Albion, Cattaraugus County.
Description:
Located northwest of the village of Little Valley, take Route 353 to Route 5,
New Albion Road. A dam on Conewango Creek was made in 1984 to create this
lake. It is stocked with brook and brown trout by the NYS DEC. It is
only about 15 feet deep. There is a boat launch with parking area.
The valley of Mosher Hollow is very
scenic. The main parking area is marked with a NYS DEC Fishing Access Site
sign. There is other signage detailing the construction of the lake, rules
and regulations, and other information. On the west end of the lake, near
the dam, there are a couple of pull over spots near the road. Another
parking area is on the east end near the swampy section.
