Lime Lake
Town of Machias, Cattaraugus County.

Western New York Outdoors home

Description:

Lime Lake is east of the village of Machias off Route 16, with a boat launching area, and is about one mile in diameter.  There is a public fishing access site on the east shoreline off Potter Road.  Bass, walleye, muskie and panfish are popular with anglers here.

Lime Lake Outlet flows north from the lake where it meets McKinstry Creek.  Both are excellent trout waters with public fishing rights.  Further downstream, Elton Creek merges into Lime Lake Outlet near Delevan.  There is a parking area off Mill Street for public access.
