John White WMA
Wildlife Management Area in the Town of
Alabama, Genesee County.

Description:
Located off Route 77 (Allegheny Road) at the intersection with Route
63 (Judge Road) is the
John White WMA, formerly the old Game Farm. This area of wetlands is north of Basom
and south of the Alabama Swamps. It is mostly
undeveloped as its principle use as a pheasant raising farm was discontinued in
1999 after 55 years.
Currently this area is proposed to become a NYS Veterans Cemetery.
