Western New York Outdoors home

Description:

Java Lake and hamlet is in southwest Wyoming County at Torrey Hill Road and Java Lake Road. From Java Center go southeast on Route 78.  Cattaraugus Creek originates here and then flows west to become the border between Cattaraugus County and Erie County.  The NYS DEC stocks brown trout in the upper section accessable from East Arcade Road.

Two miles east of Java Lake on Pleasant Valley Road, in Bliss, is Faun Lake.  This is an ownership association of 300 campsites.  The private park and campground offers a community setting for recreational activities with over 200 acres of forest with 2 lakes.  The wilderness resort is popular for hiking, canoeing and fishing.
