Western New York Outdoors
A Parks and Recreation Guide to locations for
outdoor adventures in WNY.
Harwood Lake
Multiple Use Area in the Town of
Farmersville, Cattaraugus County.
Description:
Located on Route 98 south of Farmersville and 5 miles northeast of the
Village of Franklinville. This wetland has angler opportunities available
from boats or the shoreline. There is a parking area and boat dock for
trout, bass or pan fishing. NYS DEC stocked with brown trout and rainbow
trout. The center of the dam area is the deepest, maybe 14 feet, and the
outlet location to Saunders Creek.
The upland wooded area and the adjoining Bush
Hill State Forest region is prime for hunting turkey or deer. There are
many nature trails for hiking and camping possibilities. The Finger Lakes
Trails also crosses thru the pine grove forests.
Farmersville State Forest is a couple miles north of Harwood Lake, off Route 98,
Huyck Road then right on Hess Road.
