Western New York Outdoors
A Parks and Recreation Guide to locations for outdoor adventures in WNY.

Genesee Valley - Greenway Trail
Greenways located in Wyoming, Allegany and Cattaraugus Counties.

Western New York Outdoors home

Description:

Trail work began in 1998 converting old railways and canal land for use by hikers and cyclers.  Skiers, snowmobilers, horseback and anglers also enjoy the trail.

The Northern trail head begins in Rochester at Genesee Valley Park.  There is a parking area near the Genesee River.  It then links to Letchworth State Park.  Continue traveling south along the river valley thru several towns for 90 miles and eventually you will pass Cuba Lake in Allegany county.

Along the trail you will view wildlife, scenic valleys, woodlands, wetlands, farmlands and several streams.
