Beaver Meadow Audubon Center
Wildlife sanctuary in the Town of
Java, Wyoming County.

Description:
The once nearly extinct beaver thrives here. Operated by the Buffalo
Audubon Society, this nature center has been educating WNYers with natural
history and offers many outdoor recreational activities.
There are
exhibits, wildlife, hiking trails, beaver ponds, wetlands and forests to
explore. Trails are always open, there is a picnic area and a boardwalk.
There are also several buildings to experience like a Visitor Center,
Astronomical Observatory, the Sugar Shanty and Interpretive building.
Nearby Beaver Meadow Creek is stocked with brown trout by the NYS DEC. It
is a tributary of Buffalo Creek and forms a nice pool below Angel Falls in Java
village.
