Western New York Outdoors
A Parks and Recreation Guide to locations for outdoor adventures in WNY.

Artpark
State Park in the Village of Lewiston, Niagara County.

Western New York Outdoors home

Description:

Named after Earl W. Brydges and located along the scenic Lower Niagara River Gorge.  Located on South 4th Street in the Town of Porter.  A wide variety of entertainment is held at the amphitheatre and the nature area is also enjoyable for picnics, hiking, cross country skiing, birding and fishing.

A very beautiful natural area along the Niagara Escarpment.  There is plenty of parking in the lot and a set of metal stairs leading down the gorge to the shoreline for angling or nature viewing.  Be careful however as the current is swift.  There is also a nice view of the Lewiston Queenston Bridge to Canada.  The park is open year round.  Fish Creek also flows into the Niagara River here.  You can also see General Brocks Monument on the Canadian side from here.
